Aaaaand this is where I admit I only know Japanese and don't actually know anything about Chinese, so if there are any mistakes please let me know and I'll fix them I'm so sorry ahead of time, I am the wORST

Trainer Bio:

Name: 李梅 (Mei Li)
Age: 18
Hometown: Laverre City, Kalos

Background: Mei is a recent high school graduate who aspires to make a career out of writing.  This has been met with opposition from her parents, who want her to pursue a more economically stable job.  Her mother is a move tutor for Pokémon who often helps out Trainers seeking to battle Valerie, and through talking with these prospective challengers came up with a proposition: if Mei were to apply to train under Valerie as a Furisode Girl, she would receive some of the best Pokémon-related training in the country, while still being able to pursue her discipline in English.  Mei gladly accepted the compromise, but unfortunately she doesn’t have a lot of battling experience, and needs at least three badges before she applies at Valerie’s gym.  She’s hoping to earn a badge at the Galida Summer Open… at the worst she’ll at least have some experience with competitive battling under her belt!

Misc. Info:
--She is trilingual in Chinese, French, and English.
--She adores colorful clothing; she's often said to her closer friends that it's one of the best ways she can express herself since she doesn't have a strong personality.
--Her favorite form of writing is short stories.  One piece of hers was featured in a local newspaper, about a young girl who befriended a wild Pyroar.
--She may or may not have a massive fan crush on Diantha. Who doesn't?
--She hates her name because it basically means "plum plum." 

Team Info:

Lien- 莲 (Sylveon):  Lien is hardly more than a pet, and has been Mei’s companion for a majority of her life.  He has a carefree personality, and is extremely active in contrast to Mei’s more sedentary living style.

Tao- 桃 (Masquerain):  Tao joined Mei’s team early in her high school career, when she would take lunch breaks near a pond at the back of the school.  Mei would feed her bits of food, and at one point the little bug decided to follow her home.  Tao loves sitting on her Trainer’s head.

Yang-Mei- 杨梅 (Litleo):  Yang-Mei is blind in her left eye, and the offset tends to startle most people seeing her for the first time.  Even Mei’s mother doesn’t like to have her wandering around the house in case travelers stop by, so she has a Litleo-sized eye patch that she’ll wear around strangers so they can tell where she’s looking.  Yang-Mei hates wearing it though, so she’ll often stick inseparably around Mei, who doesn’t make her wear it.

Xing- 星 (Aromatisse):  Xing is by and large a battler at heart.  She has a very strong personality that often clashes with Mei’s, though they both have a mutual respect for each other.  She can easily be identified by the yellow star hair band she wears around her left ear. Xing was originally owned by Mei’s mother, but was transferred ownership once Mei began pursuing gym badges.

Yu- 玉 (Delcatty):  Yu is extremely spoiled and considers himself “in charge” of Mei.  He was also originally owned by Mei’s mother like Xing, but unlike his teammate, is much less happy about the transfer.  He is the only one in the team that doesn’t get along well with everyone else; the only ones who tolerate him are Xing and Tao.

Qiu- 秋(Noibat):   Qiu is absolutely doted upon by Mei, and is basically the team baby.  Surprisingly, she is exceptionally strong and skilled in battle, but she loves the attention that her team gives her.  Mei takes her everywhere, which very much pleases the curious and visually-stimulated Noibat.
